The time of internet dating is not a period in which I desire to participate in, enjoy or even understand at this point. I have come to realize that experiencing anxiety and rushing to see if I have received any Myspace messages is not a good thing or anything to brag about for that matter. So as I thought about this, I began to write... It is quite pitiful how a feeling of rejection subsides within us when we don 't receive any friend requests. Have we just grown to be a people that measure our self worth according to how many people viewed our profile on a daily basis? We want to feel like with just one quick glimpse, someone's interest will be sparked and then they will feel a non-resistant urge to want to get to know us right? We want our technical presence to conquer their curiosity if only for a moment. But wait...we are still not satisfied because we see our "profile viewed" number soar but gosh why don't I have any messages? Did I say something wrong in the little boxes where I have spilled my whole life's story? Am I no one's type? These questions of what seems to be insecurity begin to fester and linger in our thoughts. We have some innate yearn to want to be noticed. We only just want to affect someone. We get lost in where other people's fingers guide them, trying to find love at first click...
